SQUARE TOWER TO HOST PORTSMOUTH AND SOUTHSEA CONSORTIUM’S SECOND ETSY MADE LOCAL MARKET ON 02 AND 03 DECEMBER 2016

On Friday 02 and Saturday 03 December 2016, a selection of artists, crafters, designers, makers and vintage enthusiasts will set up shop at Square Tower, Broad Street, Portsmouth, to offer for sale a selection of their items as part of Etsy Made Local, a series of markets taking place across the UK that weekend facilitated by Etsy, the online marketplace for handmade items, vintage goods and craft supplies.

On 17 and 18 June 2016, the Portsmouth and Southsea Consortium was proud to take part in its second Etsy Craft Party. With no set theme this year, this celebration of meeting, making, creativity and community ended up being influenced by our city’s coastal location, hence it’s beautiful pun of a nickname – Coast in the Shell.

As the Portsmouth and Southsea Consortium looks forward to what we might accomplish in 2016, we’ve thought back on our success organising one of the Etsy Made Local markets in December 2015 at aspex, a contemporary gallery in Gunwharf Quays. These markets gave people all over the UK the opportunity to buy from selected Etsy sellers in person, connecting with their creative community and exploring some of the inspiration and skill behind what was on offer.
