In the run-up to the Consortium’s Etsy Made Local Christmas market on 05 and 06 December at aspex, Gunwharf Quays, some of those who’ll sell at this will share a little about themselves and their businesses here on the Consortium’s website. In this post, find out a little about La Sua Seconda Vita and their lovable bears, cloth dolls and soft toys.
La Sua Seconda Vita means ‘its second life’, so crafter and sewer Elspeth Raisbeck breathes lovable new bear-life, cloth doll-life and soft toy-life into old fabrics. Elspeth has been making these bears and their friends for about three years, and sewing for far longer than she’d care to admit.
You’re never alone with a bear. Bear collectors are very special people, and La Sua Seconda Vita’s handmade bears are looking for very special Forever Homes. So, if you’re looking for an addition to the family, or a gift for an arctophile (lover of bears), please come and visit us at the Portsmouth and Southsea Consortium’s Etsy Made Local market.
Like your existing bear family, these collectible bears and their friends are unique, quirky and handmade with love. Elspeth says that as live in a world with too much waste, she feels it’s important to use fabrics that can be recycled, up-cycled, reclaimed, renewed, re-loved, re-owned, reused, repurposed and given a second life.
