Friday 03 July saw the first of this year’s Southsea Night Markets. In the brilliant sunshine and cool breeze of Old Portsmouth, a small, but perfectly formed, group of artists, artisans and makers came together to sell their handmade goods.
Approximately 160 visitors passed through the first Southsea Night Market, set up just by the Round Tower off Broad Street, with many passing on their best wishes for the remainder of the Markets as well as messages of support for Portsmouth and Southsea’s creative community – and, of course, buying some of the beautiful handmade and designed items on offer!
The Square Tower opened their café to offer a selection of light refreshments to visitors to the Markets, and have said that they will do so for the remainder of the month; so, if you come down to browse and buy, pop in and support another local business as you cool off in the glorious summer sunshine.
Please find below a selection of images from the night showcasing just a small number of the items on offer from the sellers present:
- Art by Emily Burrowes
- Gem and Tonic
- Gingerthread House
- Hazy Daisy Designs by Kelly Hickman
- Kim Styles Jewellery
- Rowan Styles Illustration
- Southsea Bathing Hut
- Teapot Magpie
